Robin Wilson

eYouWins2008 Special Guest Lecturer is Robin Wilson!!!

Robin Wilson (r.wilson250@btinternet.com) is an independent policy analyst, based in Belfast. He advises the Council of Europe on intercultural dialogue and helped to draft the white paper on the subject, Living Together as Equals in Dignity, launched by the foreign ministers of the 47 member states in May 2008. He also works specifically on interculturalism and football, and co-wrote an intercultural plan for the Football Association of Ireland, Many Voices, One Goal, published in 2007. He has long experience working with the challenges of the divided society of Northern Ireland, and is co-leader of a research team which has been monitoring the outworking of the Belfast agreement of 1998 for the last decade. He is currently completing a PhD on the travails of power-sharing in Northern Ireland since 1969, which looks comparatively at Bosnia since the Dayton accords and Macedonia since the Ohrid agreement. He was for 11 years director of a Northern Ireland think tank, Democratic Dialogue, which he founded after the IRA ceasefire of 1994. For eight years previously, he was editor of a respected Belfast-based current affairs magazine, Fortnight. He has contributed to a wide range of Irish, British and international media on Northern Ireland affairs, including the Irish Times and the BBC.
